CAP. 18.
Enacts, Clause 1.--- “That every curate now or hereafter to be appointed in any parish, pursuant to an act of the legislature of this island, passed in the fifty-seventh year of your majesty’s reign, chapter twenty-four, shall be, and he is hereby, allowed, in addition to any former stipend, the yearly sum of two hundred pounds, to be paid by the receiver-general, by quarterly payments, on the production of a certificate from the justices and vestry of the parish, of the curate having performed the duties required of him by the said act, such sum to be in lieu of, and to enable such curate to provide himself with, a place of residence and servants, and to commence from the day of his producing his appointment to the magistrates and vestry, or to the church wardens, of such parish.”
